"mmg la penat..tapi cam ne nak buat..sudah terlambat baru nak cepat..terperanjat (butterfingers)"...mmg terperanjat la..pe tak nya..mlm tadi (isnin mlm selasa - 27 Okt) aku baru je balik dari kg...sesampai je kemas semo nya pastu mandi jap...then mkn mlm jap pastu rehatkan perut kejap..pastu tetiba terasa nak online..aku pun amik modem aku pastu terus cucuk cable telefon..da connection kira da leh online...pe lagi aku terus klik kat icon yahoo messenger...buka je yahoo messenger tu kuar la semo list member member aku...dlm tetengok list tu aku terpandang 2 org member aku..terkejut gak aku melihat ayat di sblah icon yahoo messenger member aku tu "assignment sa n rts kena anta ari rabu"...bukan terkejut je mmg terperanjat...pastu aku buzz member aku tu.."geng..assignment ne lak nie??..mdm tak de cakap pe pe pun"..member aku pun balas.."mdm de sent email kat bebudak nie..ari jumaat ari tu..cuba tengok email ko"..aku lak berkata.."aha (tercengang)???...biar tul geng...mm..jap ye..aku g check mail yahoo jap"..

pe lagi tanpa melengahkan masa aku terus buka mail yahoo..ne tau de kot email mdm da sent kan..buka nya buka kat inbox..cari nya cari..tak dapat..."geng..tak dapat pun..mdm tak de anta la geng..ko leh send atau forward kan email tu kat aku"...member aku ni jenis baik..."ok geng..leh aja :)"...sebaik member aku da send..akhir nya dapat gak email tu..pe lagi tambah membuangkan masa aku download assignment tersebut..

keesokkan ari (selasa - 28 Okt) aku call geng aku nak cari group untuk kedua-dua assignment nie..member aku kata ok la..untuk assignment ni kena cari 4 org ahli untuk setiap group..akhir nya jua aku dapat keempat-empat ahli group..pas abih je klas pagi tu terus ke kedai makan ngan secepat mungkin tapi tak la gelojoh time makan...yerla da kelam kabut nak kena anta assignment nie..last date kena anta sblm 10 pagi ari rabu (29 Okt)....pas makan terus cari lab untuk buka note slide..time tu tanpa melengahkan masa menyelongkar setiap slide untuk dapatkan jawapan...akhirnya dapat jua siap dlm keadaan kelam kabut..sebab kena hand writing da..tak leh pakai computer untuk siapkan assignment nie..pergh..soalan punya la banyak tapi kerna mu jua MARKAH aku teruskan perjuangan ku nie..i miss u MARKAH...hehehe...

tapi............de satu je kesimpulannya...

kesimpulannya... di ne kah rakan rakan yg lain yg hanya membisu tanpa membantu rakan rakan yg lain dengan mem-broadcast-kan assignment tersebut melalui email???...sebab ramai yg tak tau de assignment tersebut..tu pun baru ptg tadi (selasa - 28 Okt) de member yg tak tau de assignment..tu pun sebaik member aku bagitau kat member yg lain...so lu pk la sendiri (nabil)...

tempoh study sem nie cuma 14 minggu je..so de tinggal lagi seminggu untuk revision..tu pun minggu depan la...dulu kalo tak silap aku campus ni tempoh studynya de 16 minggu..pastu campus wat mesyuarat n then kuar memo mengatakan mengurangkan tempoh study agar setara ngan semo ipta yg lain..so kalo dulu campus aku exam lambat dari ipta yg lain skran time kuar exam semo sama ngan ipta..pastu reason lagi satu cuti panjang ni semo lec leh amik beberapa kursus atau seminar untuk meningkatkan ilmu pengetahuan mereka n skill skali...ni dapat meningkatkan mutu pengajaran mereka..cam la tu kata kat dari memo tersebut..mm..aku arap mmg benda ni sentiasa berlaku di setiap sem.nanti takde lak bebudak ni mengata dari blakang...mengumpat pasal lec mengajar tak berkualiti..bila di tanya tak leh selesaikan..tu yg tak mau tu..mm..tu je kot..

26 Okt: balik dari kg mlm tu de lak majlis raya kat kaw umah aku lak..menu dia biasa la..kambing golek sekor je..yg lain mee goreng, air sejuk..dan sebagainya..

Selesai Gak Akhirnya...

setelah bertarung selama seminggu untuk menyiapkan both my presentation, akhirnya selesai gak ptg semlm (selasa - 22 Okt 2008)...cam cam masalah timbul dlm masa seminggu..bukan pe..benda ni sebenarnya sblm posa lagi madam da bagi..tapi biasa la kehidupan student..keje last minute..heheheh..tapi biasanya last minute nie keje mmg leh di siapkan..ful throttle tapi ala ala kadar la..janji rock!!!..hehehe....anyway thx to my 2 group presentation yg banyak membantu walaupun last minute gak..thx geng... :)..lagi satu tu mdm yg mengajar kedua-dua subject..maknannya mdm ni je sorang mengajar kedua-dua subjek yg walaupun tengok muka de cam kemarahan yg timbul sedikit..tapi aku tegur tadi masa kat tempat makan..leh lak bertembung ngan dia..hehehe..saje kaco dia..hehehe...dia ngah senduk nasi dlm polesterine..biasa la..makan bungkus bawa balik bilik dia la.. :).."mdm..skit je senduk nasi..takkan diet kot?? :)"...mdm tu pun balas ngan senyuman yg menawan..hehe...."saya baru je nak senduk nasi nie :)"..kat situ da leh nampak ok la..tak de masalah stakat nie..so takde la bimbang sangat...

kalo di ingatkan balik time presentation semlm muka mdm tu de la ke-nampak-kan muka yg muram durjana...mungkin kemarahan tertimbul di sudut ati mdm..yerla..pe tak nya..jgn kata last minute nya keje..nak anta reprot pun pun last minute..sepatutnya tempoh expired anta jumaat pas...hehehe...rasa mmg cam confirm mdm marah tapi tak terluah la kemarahan dia :)..tak pe la..janji da setel n anta gak report...pe pe pun mdm ni mmg best la..nak kata kedekut markah tak la sangat...n peramah tu de la skit..dan tak banyak cakap cuma bila mengajar je baru banyak cakap...hehehe...

kesimpulannya, jgn wat keje last minute..tu je la..mmg memberi satu pengajaran pada sem nie..sem pas kalo wat last minute selalu tepat pada waktu nya...sem ni je de masa tambahan..so thnx to all yg terlibat menjayakan presentation nie...

di editkan ceritera, org ramai da membanjiri perkarangan di luar campus city untuk menikmati juadah hari raya yg di sediakan..cam kambing golek (kalo tak silap aku de 4 ekor di golek..2 ekor seblm semayang jumaat n 2 ekor lagi pas semayang jumaat), pastu de mee rebus, nasi beriyani, sate kajang kot..hehehe, pastu de chicken chop di import dari the ship a.k.a kapal kg baru, pastu pe lagi..hah..de ketiau goreng style mamak tapi tukang masak melayu...mmg best..tak ketinggalan air batu campus atau ABC..tapi yg sempat aku layan cuma chicken 3 kali bedal, kambing golek 3 kali round, ketiau 4 kali round, mee rebus 1 kali mangkuk...tu je la..yg lain tu tak layan sangat..air cuma sirap sejuk je..air lain de gak tapi air panas...tapi yg penting skali warna warna org ramai di majlis tersebut..meriah ngan awek awek yg memakai baju kurung berwarna warni pastu de yg baju kebaya..pergh...time tu la baru nampak ke-MELAYU-an nya yg terserlah..sebaik iman tak tergugat..kalo tak da lama minta no hanset da...hehehehee..ok tu je la n selebih nya gambar di bahagian post baru..chaos!!!

"geng..ko g ne tadi??" aku tanya si member aku yg lepak kat area luarperkarangan lobi..time tu mamat ni ngah layan sebatang rokok..ngah tunggu ujan reda..."aku baru abih klas la geng"...berbual nya berbual..di editkan ceritera jumpa lagi sorang member...time tu aku jumpa member aku tu dia ngan lagi 2 org member..tambah aku ngan sorang member aku baru sampai kat luar perkarangan lobi tu da total 5 orang..sambung berbual jap pastu leh lak member aku kata time reramai student kat luar tu yg sedang tunggu ujan reda..de la awek yg terselit dlm kesesakan tu di katakan oleh member aku la...awek tu usha aku..kononnya..aku kata kat member aku bila lak la awek tu nak usha aku???..aku hanya manusia biasa je.. :)...

pastu yg member aku sorang ni lak leh terpk nak makan..tetiba lak perut dia da beri amaran...semo tertanya..nak makan kat ne lak nie??..semo pk jap..pe lagi..kg baru cam biasa la..pastu de sorang member nie terpk tempat baru nak makan mlm..ok la..di kata kat area restoran de tema pokok buluh..kira nak masuk ke restoran tu jln dia naik flight-over (tul ke perkataan BI aku nie??..main tibai..hehe)..oo..baru aku ingat...mmg dekat ngan air buah abg yg pemurah ati tu..abe klate..hehehe..penah skali minum air buah kat situ ngan beberapa member aku..time sem pas la..mmg satu gelas RM 2.00 tapi leh refile sampai kembung perut..mmg pemurah abe tu..semoga di curahkan rezeki yg limpah ruah..amin...yerla..pe tak nya..da abih semo minuman dlm gelas tambah lagi ngah satu jug..pergh..nak meletup di buat nya..hhehehe...

pastu sampai kat restoran bertemakan buluh tu baru la aku tau nama restoran tu..restoran skhumvit..cam tu la lebih kurang..kitaorg berempat makan situ sebab sorang lagi balik sebab de temujanji ngan member...tak tau la laki ke gurl..hehehe..kitorg order tomyam skhumvit..sorang satu mangkuk skhumvit..member aku leh lak g tanya pe isi tomyam skhumvit..leh lak si pelayan restoran tu kata amik nama sempena jln di thailand..nak tergelak semo member aku..hehehehe..pe tak nya..lain di tanya lain di jawab..mmg aku rasa de isi batu bata jln tar la kot..heheheh..aku order air kosong ais (bajet katakan..hehe)..yg lain tu sirap bandung, air halia ais, laici susu..pastu menu masing masin lebih kurang sama je..nasi putih, tomyam skhumvit, telur dadar..

di editkan citer da tiba nya menu kitaorg order sampai di meja kami..yg pelik member aku tu tadi order air halia ais..skali dapat air horlick ais..hehehehe..mmg tergelak kitaorg semo..tu yg sorang member aku kata..ni mesti tak faham bahasa..pelayan thailand kot...org kata air halia leh jadi horlick..lain kali nak order halia kena cakap air horlick satu..nanti leh dapat air halia ais..hehe..tu baru sorang kena..sorang lagi tu minta air laici susu..leh dapat air laici je..susu takde..hehehe..terpaksa member aku tu minum sambil berimagnasi kuat..kira kononnya air tu de susu skali pada hal susu takde...nak tergelak semo nya...hehehe..mmg pelik pelayan kat situ..sebaik aku ngan sorang member tu order dapat pe yg di kehendaki..faham lak air ais kosong ngan sirap bandung...hehehe...nasi putih (RM 1.00), telur dadar (RM 1.5o), tomyam skhumvit (RM 5.00) , air ais kosong (RM 0.20) = RM 7.70 skali makan..aku nya la..yg lain tu aku tak tau bape harga diorg sebab air lelain cuma menu makan je lebih kurang sama je :)

pe pe pun da lama gak tak makan bersama ngan diorg..skali skala dapat makan diorg...ne tak nya..diorg bz ngan klas nya..ngan kuiz nya..lagi lagi klas sampai mlm..da bertembung tadi tu da kira rezeki dapat makan sesama rakan rakan yg lain :)....

hehehe..pe da...skali skala nak jadi dj...pagi pagi da taip kat blog sendiri..ntah la..sepatutnya aku de klas ataupun lab kat level 6..tapi pk pk pk dlm komuter kira nak onthe ke kl sentral..nak call si member aku ke tak..pasal nak datang ke tak lab pag nie??...mm..bukan pe..sebabnya de masalah skit pasal keje..last last aku call si member aku nie...aku pun tanya la.."salam geng...pagi ni ko masuk tak lab??"..member aku pun menjawab dlm keadaan mengantuk (kira baru bangun tido la) "tak kot..sebab aku da terlajak nie..sok (ari khamis - 16 okt) kita masuk lab..suruh ahli group kita masuk sok"..aku pun balas "ok bos..rodger n out!!"...pagi ni gak aku cari no semo ahli group aku..cari nya cari tak dapat..rupanya mmg takde sebab tak minta n save dlm phonebook aku..hehehe..

aku pun msg semo no hanset member aku..nak tanya pasal no hanset ahli group aku..skali broadcast ingat balas semo..rupa skit demi skit..tapi tak kisah la janji dapat gak no hanset ahli group aku..last last dapat gak no hanset member group aku..sebaik da sampai kat kl sentral..tapi paling aku tension dari tempat aku ke kl sentral punya la sesak..penuh ngan mahkluk yg nak g keje..sempit cam tin sardin..berhimpit..sebaik tak berhimpit ngan pompuan..pergh..kalo berhimpit gak ngan gurl mmg lagi "hangat dari luar biasa"....hehehehe...

pe lagi..round semo kedai kat situ akhirnya aku jumpa satu kedai..kat situ aku beli nasi goreng (RM 2.50)...pastu hot dog atau sausage 3 batang (RM 3.00)..air mineral (RM 1.50)..total sarapan pagi kat situ = RM 7.00..tak pe la..skali skala sarapan kat situ.. :)...de skali tu makan kat kedai ikan bakar (between pak hassan n kedai reban)...RM 5.00..nasi goreng (RM 1.00)..ayam goreng (RM 4.00)..air kosong sejuk (free)...aku g makan situ time sem pas..pastu de skali makan kat kedai bersebelahan car wash di area gerbang kg baru...berharga RM 7.00 gak tapi tu pun thn pas aku makan kat situ..menu dia aku da lupa la tapi air kosong sejuk gak..biasa la..tu la harga menu n kehidupan seharian di kota..sentiasa meningkat..sebaik tak merokok skali..kalo tak mau seari 20 hinggit aku terbang...hehehe...


da setel sarapan > kl monorail > medan tuanku > jln kaki > lobi > lift > level 7...cari maklumat jap pasal presetation untuk minggu depan..kena wat tambahan info..nak markah lebih kata nya si madam subject tu la..letak gambar banyak dapat la markah lebih...sebab tu pagi ni gap sampai 2.30 ptg kena cari kat internet tentang info tersebut...

smlm ari ujan..lebat siap ngan petir menyelit di awangan...aku online cam biasa je..tak de pe pe y, berlaku..tapi alhamdullilah..modem cam biasa je..online ok je..download pun ok je..pastu disconnect sebab aku g tengok tv jap...sebab de citer best..lagipun aku disconnect bukan pe..saje nak protect atau lindungi modem aku dari kena sambar petir..aku arap arap jgn la..sebab ni la modem kedua seblm modem pertama telah pun terkena petir..aku taknak jadi geng geng aku yg kaki torrent..sampai 10 modem tuko...hehehe..banyak lak duit diorg tapi diorg tak kisah asalkan modem bergerak torrent pun beroperasi...heheh..

abih tengok citer kat tv dlm kul 12.00 tgh mlm..cam biasa rutin harian aku..lewat online katakan..tu yg kekadang ari de klas pun online time cam tu gak..tido pun lewat..tapi bangun nya awal..hehehe..tapi weekend kekadang sampai kul 5 pagi pun de gak baru nak tido..hehee..tapi tak pe la sebab sok nya cuti bangun pun lagi lewat..pastu aku nak online aku onkan modem tapi yg heran lampu adsl tak menyala..biasanya kalo cable dari telefon terus ke port line (adsl) kat modem tu akan detect sebab de operation pada cable tersebut..lagipun aku da set auto connection pada modem..kiranya aku tak yah g desktop pastu cari icon stremyx nak login..kiranya pakai manual..da jadi auto connection sepatutnya lampu menyala la tapi tak menyala..yg menyala lampu nya hanya pada LAN port..aku da naik cuak la..takkan da kena ke modem aku ni..aku wat sampai dapat..tapi still sama gak keadaan nya..mmg time tu aku pk sok ari isnin kena g anta ke kedai la..sebaik de lagi warranty..lagipun modem tu leh on..lampu power modem tu menyala..kalo modem da kena sambar petir..biasanya la..da tak leh on..tu yg aku heran..

mmg confirm la aku kena g anta kedai ari isnin..pk nya pk..pastu pagi ahad (ari ni) aku try lagi skali on n auto connection..still sama gak..sampai la ptg ni dlm kul 7.00 ptg..saje je nak tengok ne tau kalo leh connection..alhamdullilah..sebaik leh connection internet..mmg tak yah g kedai esok ari..selamat modem aku..syukur pada tuhan..amin :)

Malam Tadi Punya Ceritera

ari khamis ari tu...aku de la dapat satu kertas promosi piza hut n then aku bawa ke campus...member aku nampak kertas..pe lagi..tengok harga promosi tu cam best je..member aku tu lak tetiba lak nafsu dia membuak buak nak g makan kat situ lak...pe lagi..dia ajak aku g makan kat situ..aku cakap ngan dia..leh aku ajak group lain lak..ok la member aku kata cam tu..aku set masa time ari jumaat..kira semlm la..ok la..pastu aku g tau bebudak group lain..nak ajak g makan piza hut..diorg kata ok la kan...satu group 6 org nak g makan piza hut..baru meriah skit kat piza hut..heheheh

tiba ari jumaat (semlm)..aku set time..aku kata ngan bebudak aku tunggu kat lobi pas 7.30 mlm..tunggu nya tunggu..sampai la group bebudak aku tu..skali lain lak rancangan dia..group tu nak makan kat the boat a.ka. kapal kg baru lak...member aku yg ajak g makan piza hut lak tu tak leh wat pe join je la..janji dapat g makan sesama group tu..

tapi bagi aku yg penting bila g makan sesama group nie dapat mengeratkan sesama rakan rakan satu klas..tu yg penting bagi aku..pastu meriah..lagipun group yg satu ni aku da lama makan sama walaupun bln posa aku tak g makan sesama mereka..jadi sebagai ganti mlm tadi g makan sesama ngan mereka..aku arap majlis sebegini dapat di teruskan sehingga semonya da berkejaya n da berumah tangga..tu je la harapan aku...umpama ari yg di cincang takkan putus :)...

aku tak tau cam ne nak starting..mm..cam nie....aku ni cam tetiba je de perasaan lak untuk minat nak study photoshop...ni pun bila member aku ari tu (dlm bln posa)..leh lak nak study photoshop ngan de sorang member dia la..member dia nie student multimedia..terer gak bab photoshop..jadi aku follow member aku ni study....time mlm lak tu..de la dlm kul 11 mlm la baru dia abih study....lama tak lama la lepak lobi campus nak study photoshop punya pasal....di editkan ceritera..aku tengok member aku study photoshop..cam seronok gak..edit gambar katakan..rupanya member aku ni da jadi freelance atau pun photographer bebas..cam tu la kot..de la dia amik tender untuk amik gambar org kawin..tu yg dia study photoshop tu..

ari tu gak la aku duk sblah member atau rangkap lec photoshop kepada member aku tu..dia de offer aku edit gambar org kawin..skali edit dia bayar RM4++..terkejut aku dengar..mahal tu bayaran untuk skali projek edit gambar tapi aku kena blajar dulu ngan dia..aku ne la reti sangat...ehehe...sebaik la de contact cam mamat tu..de gak projek income skit..mamat ni gak de wat klas tambahan photoshop di campus waktu atau pun time cuti sem..masuk klas dia free..cam tak caya tu..free lak klas tu tapi cuti sem pas rugi tak g sebab masa tu cam malas nak kuar umah..da cuti sbln duk umah kasi besarkan badan..pastu wat biji taik mata...kalo leh jual da jadi kaya aku nie skran...hehehe..

Sony Ericsson expands its sustainability credentials with the launch of its environmental warranty and the GreenHeart™ phone

Lund, Sweden – September 24, 2008 – Today marked the launch of Sony Ericsson’s environmental warranty, and the concept of Sony Ericsson GreenHeart™ phones, just two initiatives the company is taking to further its commitment to a sustainable future and continually reducing its impact on the environment.

Environmental warranty

The launch of Sony Ericsson’s environmental warranty means that now, when any Sony Ericsson product is taken to a designated collection point, Sony Ericsson will recycle this product in an environmentally sound way. This warranty is valid globally, regardless of where the product was originally purchased, as Sony Ericsson strives to show its support for ‘individual producer responsibility’ (IPR).

Sony Ericsson has long-since participated in and supported the development of common industry systems that relate to the collection and recycling of old mobile phones and accessories. Launching its own collection points and system means that Sony Ericsson will be able to further strengthen its commitment to taking responsibility for the products it sold to consumers.

This new initiative has now been initiated in India, Taiwan, China, Thailand, Singapore USA and Mexico. To date, more than 500 collection points are already in operation. Sony Ericsson intends to complete this rollout by 2009 in all the countries in which it operates. The company’s solely-owned collection points will be primarily made available in those countries where the current industry-standard system of phone recycling have been judged to be too limited.

Sony Ericsson also plans to develop the way in which it spreads information about this new initiative through its customer help desks and over the internet. The aim is to give consumers easy access to information on their nearest recycling drop off point.

GreenHeart™ phones

As a company that puts environmental sustainability at the heart of its product development, Sony Ericsson wanted to explore new ideas in this area through a concept design study.

The GreenHeart™ is a full concept with all life cycle in mind it includes features such as bio-plastic housings, recycled plastic keypads, zero charger with 3.5mW standby power, HTML based e-manuals, a game style educational application ‘Ecomate’ and environmentally conscious packaging.

This concept has been shared with a few selected partners in the industry, whose response has been extremely positive. Sony Ericsson will therefore take this concept and initiate a two-way conversation with customers on what features they believe should be implemented in future phones and in what priority.

Environmentally, all of Sony Ericsson products live up to the extremely high standards that are expected by the industry. Pursuing policies such as the global phase out of unwanted substances, and being a leader in charger performance, is included in all our current product offerings. This is also recognised by external organisations worldwide, with Greenpeace, for example, naming Sony Ericsson as the ‘greenest electronics company’ for 2008. With the GreenHeart™ concept however, Sony Ericsson is looking to the future, to ensure the full life cycle of a mobile phone can be made more environmentally friendly. Once the technology reaches maturity, new techniques and materials will then be included in the portfolio and a market wide launch. One ‘eco’ product by itself will not make a difference but by learning through this concept study we are ensuring the entire portfolio in future will be more sustainable.

Canon EOS 5D Mark II Digital SLR Records HD Video

The three-year wait for a successor to Canon's EOS 5D has finally come to an end with today's announcement of the Canon EOS 5D Mark II digital single-lens reflex camera. And the wait was worth it, based on this model's revolutionary specs: This full-frame camera is the first camera to record 1920 by 1080p video.

When it was first introduced, the 5D broke new ground as the first digital SLR with an image sensor that matches the size of a 35mm film frame. A "full-frame" camera is capable of delivering the full range of an SLR lens, such that a 24-to-105mm lens actually delivers a 24mm wide-angle view. This ability is a boon to photographers who want to shoot scenes like landscapes, or weddings and parties.

Many other digital SLRs have sensors that are smaller than that of a 35mm film frame, though. In those cases, the camera has what's commonly referred to as a "crop factor" or "focal-length multiplier" (for example, a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi has a 1.6X multiplier), and a 24 to 105mm lens effectively becomes a 38-to-168mm lens, instead. The smaller sensor means that the edges of the lens are cropped off, which gives the effect of zooming into the center of the lens.

Latest in Flurry of Full-Frame Cameras

Canon's announcement makes the 5D Mark II the third full-frame digital SLR announced within a few months. The Nikon D700 launched this summer; this 12.1-megapixel model sells for $3000. The Sony Alpha DSLR-A900 was announced last week; the 24.6-megapixel camera will be priced at $3000 when it ships in November.

By announcing last of the three, Canon had the advantage of being able to bring the 21-megapixel 5D Mark II in at an impressive price: $2699 for the body only, and $3499 in a kit with the EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM zoom lens. Canon expects the camera to ship in November.

The 5D Mark II will be the second Canon digital SLR to use the company's enhanced DIGIC 4 image processing system; the first will be the EOS 50D, due in October. Canon credits DIGIC 4 with enabling many of the 5D Mark II's noteworthy features, including improved noise reduction, faster processing, and ISO ranges of 50 to 25,600. This model can handle shooting at 3.9 frames per second (up from the 5D's 3 frames per second), with unlimited large fine JPEGs or 14 RAW files when using a UDMA CompactFlash card, or 78 large fine JPEGs with a regular CompactFlash card.

HD Video Capture

In the space of a month, the photography and camcorder worlds have been shaken up with the announcement of digital SLRs that can record video. First, the Nikon D90 launched with its 720p, 24 frames-per-second motion JPEG AVI video capture. Then word trickled out that Panasonic plans to offer high-def video capture with the next iteration of its Lumix G1.

Now, Canon's 5D Mark II transforms the landscape further by capturing 30 frames per second MPEG-4 video at 1920 by 1080p resolution. Canon says you can capture up to 12 minutes of high-def video with monoaural sound (approximately 4GB) or 29 minutes, 59 seconds of standard definition video. You can take a picture while recording a movie; the video stops while you snap a still, then it resumes recording. In addition to the built-in mono microphone, you can add an external stereo microphone. A Mini-HDMI port facilitates outputting video directly from the camera to an HDTV.

Other Enhancements

Much has changed in the three years since the original 5D debuted, and Canon has brought this model up to spec in every way imaginable. The camera has the same design and virtually the same weight as before, but there's additional weather sealing around the CompactFlash card and battery compartment, and a new, slightly smaller battery that can track battery power levels. The 3-inch LCD screen has 920,000 dots, anti-glare coating, and fluorine coating for easily wiping off dust. The camera also has Canon's latest integrated sensor cleaning system.

The 5D Mark II features a creative auto mode, as on the 50D, that gives you easy access to settings such as picture styles, exposure compensation in one location.

The Live View mode for framing your shots on the LCD screen has a dedicated button. The camera provides three ways to focus: quick mode, which lowers the mirror temporarily using the 15-point phase detection autofocus mechanism; live mode, which provides contrast based one-point autofocus; and face detection-based focusing.

Hasselblad Readies 60-megapixel Camera

At the photokina 2008 trade show Hasselblad showed off its new flagship camera, the H3DII-50, that is the first digital camera on the market to feature Kodak's 50-megapixel sensor. A 60-megapixel model will be announced in 2009.

The sensor measures 36x48mm and is twice the physical size of the largest 35mm DSLR sensors.

Hasselblad CEO Christian Poulsen said that the company will also be announcing the even higher-end camera and forthcoming H3DII-60 in 2009.

The H3DII-60 will feature a 60-megapixel sensor that provides 94% full-frame, 645 coverage.

"We feel that it's important to emphasize the 94% coverage, because, although we hear the phrase 'full-frame' being used quite frequently, no manufacturer has yet achieved true medium format full-frame," said Poulson at the huge German photokina show.

Priced at £14,750, the H3DII-50 (excluding lens) is available now. The H3DII-60, which will be priced at £18,750 (excluding lens), will be available in April 2009.

Hasselblad is also launching a new versatile zoom lens, the HCD 4.0-5.6/35-90mm, to join its expanding HC/HCD lens line.

A "revolutionary" new tilt and shift adaptor, the Hasselblad HTS 1.5, is also joining the Hasselblad line-up. The HTS 1.5 allows photographers to use tilt and shift functionality with most of their existing or new HC/HCD lenses.

"The addition of digital sensors that read and record all movements and Hasselblad's proprietary digital lens correction mean that we can offer photographers both a unique level of quality and maximum ease of use," said Poulson.
